Which Versions of Mac OS/ OS X are Supported

With the release of Mac OS Sonoma, we thought we would update you on our progress on the compatibility of the Perfect Diet Tracker and all Mac OS and OS X systems.

Due to updates, we have to make to support all the features in OS X Big Sur, the next release of the Perfect Diet Tracker will now work on the following systems:

  • OS X 10.9: “Mavericks”
  • OS X 10.10: “Yosemite”
  • OS X 10.11: “El Capitan”
  • OS X 10.12: “Sierra”
  • OS X 10.13: “High Sierra”
  • OS X 10.14: “Mojave”
  • OS X 10.15: “Catalina”
  • Mac OS 11: “Big Sur”
  • Mac OS 12: “Monterey”
  • Mac OX 13: “Ventura”
  • Mac OS 14: “Sonoma”

The two things to note from this release are:

  1. The latest version of the Perfect Diet Tracker will no longer support 10.8 Mountain Lion (2012), but do not worry, existing versions will continue to work.
  2. As you will see, Big Sur makes the jump to Mac OS 11 (from OS X 10). This is a big milestone and represents a change in the type of chip Apple use inside the Mac. During the transition stage and despite a lot of testing we anticipate there will be some issues so if you come across something, anything, just let us know.

OS X Big Sur represents a big step in the evolution of Mac OS X and we are proud to still be able to write diet tracking software for Mac OS X over a decade since we started writing for it.

Thank you for your continued support!

  1. My application will not open. Using Sonoma 14.0 on a MacBook Air. Apple Message received when I try to open (Perfect Diet Tracker quit unexpectedly) looks like a kernel panic. How do I fix this? It’s been like this over a week and I cannot use this application. How do I get this fixed?
